Protect our Lake Magnan
The objectives of our Association are inspired by and are essential to preserve our environment:
- Maintain the water quality of the lake and its tributaries.
- Protect the coastline, shores and forest management of the lake and its tributaries against all forms of degradation.
- Initiate all steps to ensure the quality of the environment and the protection of nature.
- Initiate all steps to maintain or improve the tranquility of the living environment.
- Raise citizens' awareness of the challenges of protecting the water, the lake, nature, the quality of the environment and the quality of the living environment.
- Raise awareness among citizens about the importance of maintaining the residential character of the lake, without commercial or public exploitation.
- Take the necessary steps with the municipality and government authorities to obtain by- laws to ensure the quality of the environment, the protection of nature and the quality of the living environment.
Cleaning our boats
At Lake Magnan, we encourage the cleaning of boats (boats, kayaks, paddle boards, ...) to protection our lake.
🎯 Why clean your boat?
To prevent the spread of invasive species (like Eurasian watermilfoil) from one body of water to another. These plants or animals can harm wildlife, ecosystems, and water quality.
🧽 4 simple steps
1. INSPECT your watercraft, trailer, and equipment to detect the presence of unwanted species, mollusks, or bits of vegetation.
2. REMOVE and dispose of any unwanted material in the trash, at a safe distance from the lake.
3. DRAIN any water from the bottom of your watercraft, coolers, and live wells—also at a safe distance from the lake. No stagnant water should remain in your watercraft.
4. WASH and rinse your watercraft using a pressure washer or with a brush and a solution of bleach or vinegar;
5. REPEAT these 4 steps every time you visit a new place

😒 And what if I don't care?
Think of it as a small act to protect the lakes you love. It’s quick, free, and prevents costly damage in the long run.
And you can also simply let your boat dry for 5 days in strong sunlight before visiting another lake, so the sun and air do the work for you!
A section accessible only to members
When paying your fees, not only you contribute to the association's mandate, but you also have access to information and activities for members only.
Become a member
All owners of a lake access to the Lake Magnan can become members of the association. An annual fee of 50$ is collected.

Join us to measure the water transparency, identify invasive species, ...
- Water Clarity Workshop, Mondays, every 2 weeks, starting June 16
- Water Quality Sampling, June 16, July 21, August 18
- Survey of invasive plants and analysis of periphyton, with the support of the CRE, on August 9 and 10, depending on the temperature, the workshop can be postponed to August 16 and 17
